Our objective is to factor the relevant environmental, technical, and social variables. Then, offer comprehensive residential waste management solutions to the different municipalities in the country. We have the experience, capacity, technology, infrastructure, and the most specialized fleet in the country.
Currently, STARCO S.A. and DEMARCO S.A. service more than 20 municipalities around the country.
Our fleet has more than 400 cargo vehicles, specialized and supporting units assisting the operation. Here are some examples: waste collection trucks, rapid intervention trucks used for emergencies, dump and dump/ crane trucks, ampliroll trucks, sweepers and sweeper-vacuum vehicles, water tank trucks, front loaders, chippers, hydro-washer vehicles, retro-excavators, and bulldozers among other vehicles.
CONTROL CENTER
The Control Center can supervise our fleet in its entirety since every vehicle keeps a GPS (global positioning system) device. The vehicles can be identified wherever they may be around the country. GPS allow us to obtain real-time information about traffic conditions, mechanical problems, and driving profiles. The information gathered from each vehicle allows us to manage average speed, distance averages, stops, fuel consumption, and other data useful in the vehicles maintenance and in the training of our employees.

CCU - TEMUCO (DEMARCO S.A.) Demarco services CCU in the city of Temuco, CCU is the largest beverage producer in Chile. The service includes the administration and management of the waste yard and the treatment of the following waste products: Sludge: generated at the water treatment CCU plant. Filtering minerals: utilized in the beer making process. Glass: created as faulty containers in the bottling process and discarded containers from distributors. ISW: industrial solid waste, and other waste such as plastics, aluminum cans, and residential-like waste. The purpose of the waste yard management team is to reduce the actual amount of waste disposed on sanitary landfills. To achieve this, the team needs to recycle and add value to renewable waste materials (aluminum, glass, metal). On the other hand, the volume of non-reusable solid waste needs to be reduced by grinding, compacting and any other techniques that will ensure a cost-effective and safe final disposal. Demarco offers CCU a comprehensive approach to the creation of waste by trying to reduce it, and to lower the cost of treating it as well. All of this can be done without sacrificing our common responsibility to the environment.
The objective is to implement a sorting, collection, separation, and commercialization system for potentially recyclable residential solid waste. We expect to help create new habits and behavior on this community in order to reduce the amount of waste disposed on sanitary landfills. The Center has created training facilities and welcomes Public Institutions, Schools, and the general public. The idea is to teach the importance of recycling and its positive impact to the Environment.
What is recycled on this Center?
What is to recycle? It is the process of recovering solid waste to be used in the creation of new products. How to recycle? You have to sort the waste materials to be recycled. Most important, you need to do it not only at home but anywhere you are. Keep these materials in a container / bag in order to have them ready to be picked up and properly processed. Starco S.A. developed and administers this collection center / Clean Spot for the municipality of Vitacura. This Clean Spot it use to educate the community – especially children- and it promotes environmental consciousness in general. The center it is used as a platform to explain the complexities involved in the management of the waste we all generate and how we can help to reduce its impact in the environment. Clean Spot Vitacura is located at 3098 Americo Vespucio Ave. There are specially-habilitated training / meeting rooms used for expositions and speakers. The mission of the Center is to control, coordinate and to transfer operative and logistic information. The Center runs 24 hours a day and it can communicate with each member of our fleet wherever they may be. Our communication network helps to achieve a quick response on the field, safeguarding our personnel, the equipment, our clients, and assuring a prompt and efficient service.
Starco S.A. won a public bid to manage this Recycling Center on August 1st, 2007. The facility is located at 1221 San Eugenio street, Ñuñoa, Metropolitan Region.
This facility is where the municipality of Vitacura organizes pro-community / environmental programs. It is a collection center for recycled materials and it offers several types of special containers to receive these materials.
