A cooperation meeting between the regional director and personnel from the National Forestry Agency- Greater Santiago Metropolitan Region, and KDM S.A. took place on June 03, 2008.

Cooperation Meeting between National Forestry Agency - Greater Santiago Metropolitan Region and KDM S.A.The organizations have been partners and worked together on environmental education based on their 2007 agreement. Their work has focused on the National System on Environmental Certification for Educational Organizations (SNCAE) promoted by UNESCO in 2003.

KDM S.A. convinced of its Corporate Social Responsibility role, sponsors environmental certification on area schools. The process ends when the Regional Committee on Environmental Certification (CRCA) qualifies the schools and then certifies them on a special ceremony.

CONAF-RM has the mission of training the teachers, providing teaching materials, manuals, tutoring / assistance, and organizing field trips to the Quilicura Transfer Station and to the Rio Clarillo National Preserve.

The meeting among the parts reaffirms the serious compromise of these entities with the environment. We are convinced that the only way to achieve an environmental message is a change of attitude on people. We need to develop an active consciousness on environmental problems and work from local to global issues through communities and their students, teachers, parents, and everyone involved in the educational process. Moreover, the meeting reassured the agreement between institutions, their goals and achievements on the scheduled work program.
